The result was the opposite of what the researcher expected, so 'instead' correctly signals contrast.
Math: A linear function f has f(2) = 7 and f(5) = 16. What is f(0)?
The slope is (16 - 7) / (5 - 2) = 3. Moving from x = 2 to x = 0 decreases x by 2, so y decreases by 6. Thus f(0) = 1.
Reading: A museum placed QR codes beside paintings so visitors could hear conservators explain the restoration process. Surveys showed visitors spent more time with paintings that had the codes. Which inference is best supported?
The surveys connect added context from QR codes with longer viewing time. The answer should not overstate the result.
